Board Member Responsabilities
Terms: Each member of the Board of Directors shall serve for a period of two years or until such member resigns, dies or is removed. After the two years, the Board Member may choose to extend his/her term on an annual basis.

- Board Meetings:
- Each member of the Board of Directors shall endeavor to attend all meetings if possible, per By Laws. Board Meetings are typically in person every other month, and virtual every other month.
- Participate in voting and discussion
- Review the reports sent prior to the meeting in order to fully participate in the discussion, with particular attention to the financial documents
- Estimated time commitment: 2 hours, monthly
- Special Meetings
- Each member should strive to attend any special meetings that are called to discuss more timely matters in between board meetings (rare)
- Estimated time commitment: 0-2 hours monthly, (typically 0)
- Special Events
- Board members should strive to attend Casa de Paz events
- Donor Appreciation Event
- Fiesta Latina Fundraiser or other fundraising events
- Events with residents
- Board members should strive to attend Casa de Paz events
- Committees
- Board members should volunteer to oversee* two or more Focus Areas (see below)
- Board Meetings:
- *Overseeing doesn’t mean the board member has to do all of the work involved for the task

- Board members can volunteer to assist with tasks beyond overseeing the two chosen Focus areas
- Estimated time commitment: 2-5 hours per month

- Fiesta Latina is our bi-annual fundraiser.
- Each member is expected to either purchase a table at the annual Fiesta Latina fundraiser or invite guests to fill at least one table
- Each member is responsible for assisting with at least one component of the planning process for Fiesta Latina
- Each member is responsible for securing at least two silent auction items for Fiesta Latina
- Each member is responsible for calling a list of donors in the Fall during the annual Panes y Peces Campaign, and strive to identify additional donors
- Estimated time commitment:
- Fall: 1-2 hours per month
- Winter: 0-1 hours per month
- Spring: 1 hour per month
- Summer: 2-3 hours per month
- Fiesta Latina is our bi-annual fundraiser.
