This summer we partnered with Ola! Immigrant Welcome Center to host an empowerment event for Latina women in the area, titled Mujeres Empoderadas. Around 40 women attended and participated in engaging sessions such as the importance of mental health, meditation, knowing your rights, the basics of banking, and an activity led by Raquel, one of our Fenix group members. Dinner was catered and the attendees enjoyed music performed by a quartet from the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. We received wonderful feedback and attendees enjoyed the event. We had the support from many volunteers, many who commit regular hours to working at Casa de Paz.
