Paulina Cruz
Director
Paulina Cruz is a Latina immigrant, with a background in healthcare and social services. Prior to her position as Family Support Coordinator at Casa de Paz she worked at the Northern Kentucky Health Department. In that role, she helped the community get connected to essential resources, programs, and women’s health services while breaking language and cultural barriers. Previously she was at Versiti Blood Center of Ohio, where she was involved in collecting life-saving blood donations, training new hires, and educating the Hispanic community about the importance of blood donation. She has also worked as an EMT specializing in patients going through mental health crises.
Sylvie Acuna
Family and Volunteer Specialist
Kasylvi (Sylvie) Acuna is a recent graduate from Ohio University with a background in Sociology and Political Science. Prior to her position as Family and Volunteer Specialist with Casa de Paz, she pursued her graduate studies at OU, where she specifically studied adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), their effects on children in rural Appalachia, and how volunteerism plays a significant role in mediating the effects of trauma. She is first generation and is very passionate about helping her community and assisting individuals with reaching their full potential.
